From Biloxi, Mississippi, Delano attended Biloxi High School. As a senior, he went 9-0 with 58 strikeouts and a 3.72 ERA, while batting .280 with 25 RBI and two home runs. Currently, he pitches for Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, where Delano had three strikeouts and a 3.00 ERA in three IP in 2020. He earned MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges) All-Academic honors.
