Aces take on Big Train in LCS

The Alexandria Aces are slated to do battle with the three-time defending Ripken League champion Bethesda Big Train at Shirley Povich Field to kick off the three-game semifinal series Friday night. First pitch is off at 7 p.m.
The Aces have only emerged victorious over Bethesda once all summer long and have yet to outlast them in a full nine-inning game.
The Aces ended 17 games behind Bethesda in the regular season, so upsetting the 30-7 frontrunners would be a longshot – but anything can happen as we saw at South County during the wildcard victory over FCA.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Scotty Morgan (GMU). The second-year Ace leads the league in home runs at 9 and has bashed in Shirley Povich Field for a pair of multi-homerun ballgames earlier this summer.
Game two of the series will be played at Frank Mann Field; a forced game three would move back up north to Bethesda, Maryland.
Neither club has announced starting pitchers.
