Aces take on the Giants at Frank Mann Field (Preview)

After falling 0-4 on the year, courtesy of a three-game road trip, the Aces head back to familiar footing at Frank Mann Field in a hosting of the Gaithersburg Giants. The matchup’s first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
The Aces are well acquainted with their northern foe after dropping a 3-2 nail bitter at Gaithersburg last Wednesday with a late two-out rally falling short in the ninth.
Alexandria has struggled early this season from the batter’s box, but the recent emergence of Casey Mayes (Michigan State) Friday night has started to give the Aces life. The Spartan knocked down a pair double in his 3-4 marking at FCA.
Alexandria, still bidding their springboard victory, is set to start Nolan Bolt (Towson) on mound. Bolt was last seen in Aces pinstripes during the first inning of the FCA exhibition matchup tossing a scoreless frame. The Towson product carded a 1-3 record on a 4.10 ERA in his 2019 college campaign.
Brad Dobzanski is the expected starter for Gaithersburg. Beside him will be a duo of fleet footed Grambling State Tigers in the form of Warren Laster and C.J. Mervilus. It will be integral for the Aces to keep both off the base path as they’re a threat to steal at any point.
