Game 38: Aces vs. Braves

Fresh off of splitting a double header over the Baltimore Dodgers, the Aces will return home to play the FCA Herndon Braves in a marquee matchup as the two are competing for the final payoff spot in the CRCL. The Aces are currently a game and a half behind the FCA Braves and if they want any chance of claiming that final spot, they need to not only win tonight but each of their last three games to taste some postseason success.

For today’s crucial outing manager Chris Berset has tapped fellow Georgetown Hoya Jacob Grzebinski to start the game today for the Aces. Grzebinski was supposed to start one of the double header games yesterday against the Dodgers but knowing what loomed with the Braves, Berset thought this would be more fitting. Grzebinski AKA “Grizz Nasty” has been as solid a number 2 option can be all year for the Aces as he has showed up time and time again and delivered. Grzebinski has an outstanding record of 3 wins 1 loss and a 3.51 ERA for the Aces this season. Grzebinski will look to lead the way for an Aces team that desperately needs the stability a pitcher of his caliber can provide.

The Aces are going to need all the help they can get at the plate tonight and they showed flashes of that last night in a 11-0 victory over the Baltimore Dodgers in game one. Watch for Isiah Thomas (Vanderbilt Commit), Justin Kelly (Wayne State), Chris Alleyne (Maryland), and Ethan Cady (East Tennessee State) to lead the way for the Aces going forward as all had huge games in the victory yesterday.

Game starts at 6:30 at Frank Mann Field tonight so make sure you come out for first pitch. If not able to attend, listen live on Aces radio at or follow us live on twitter for in game updates with the username @alexandriaaces.
