Game 36 and 37 – Aces at Baltimore Dodgers

Due to some serious rain yesterday at Frank Mann Field, the Aces will play two today in Baltimore against the Dodgers. The Aces who’s record is 15 wins 20 losses really need to stay hot and possibly take both games if they want to make the playoffs as they are still in competition for the third and final playoff spot of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League. The road may look daunting, but with the Aces ability and starting pitching in place Alexandria should make a run for postseason success.

Since 2 games will be played today, Chris Berset has tapped fellow Georgetown Hoya Jacob Grzebinski to start the first game today for the Aces. Grzebinski AKA “Grizz Nasty” has been as solid a number 2 option can be all year for the Aces as he has showed up time and time again and delivered. Grzebinski has an outstanding record of 3 wins 1 loss and a 3.51 ERA for the Aces this season. Grzebinski will look to lead the way for an Aces team that desperately needs the stability a pitcher of his caliber can provide.

Aces manager Chris Berset knowing the dire situation the team is currently in, has opted to go with arguably the Aces best pitcher this season and Cal Ripken Collegiate League All Star Carter Bosch. Bosch has been nothing short of outstanding out on the hill for the Aces, as he’s powered the team with a record of 2 wins and no losses while also leading the entire Cal Ripken Collegiate League in ERA with a 1.50 in an impressive 30 innings of work. You couple those impressive stats with the fact that Carter a Georgetown commit has just recently graduated high school makes his dominance for the Aces all the more impressive as it is his first time facing college level talent.

Look for the Aces to rely on leadoff man and centerfielder Isaiah Thomas as he has really done a terrific job getting the team going as he has now raised his batting average over .350 at the plate. Thomas a Vanderbilt commit will try to keep red hot at the dish as well as using his impactful speed to swipe more than a couple of bases on the diamond today. If the Aces are able to get more than a few runs in today, look for Thomas to be a big part of why.

First pitch for both games start at 4:00 PM and will pickup a half an hour after the first game is completed. If not able to attend today’s game, tune into Aces radio at or follow us for live twitter updates at the username @Alexandriaaces.
