Game 30 – Aces @ DC Grays

After dropping a tough loss to the Silver Springs-Tacoma Thunderbolts last night 11-7, the Alexandria Aces will try to get back to their winning ways Tuesday night as they take on the DC Grays at Washington Nationals Youth Academy. The Aces who have struggled recently losing 11 of their last 15 games, are still competing for one of the final wild card spots in the Cal Ripken Collegiate South Division and have their sites set on the post season. The Aces will have to lock in for this final week and a half of CRCL (Cal Ripken Collegiate League) play however if they really want to make it.

On the mound tonight for the Aces is Carter Bosch who has been nothing short of fantastic so far this season who actually is leading the Cal Ripken Collegiate league in ERA with a strikingly low 0.34 earned run average. Carter who’s record is 2 wins and no losses this season, is doing all of this as someone who is getting his first taste of college baseball as he just recently graduated high school in the area and will be attending Georgetown in the fall as a true freshman. The Aces are going to need Carter at his best tonight as he has proven to be the best pitcher on the Aces staff this year as he was rewarded with an all star selection for this years CRCL All Star Game.

On the mound for the DC Grays will be University of Cincinnati right hander Issac Olson who has a record o 3 wins to one loss and an impressive 2.45 ERA. You add that Olson stands an enormous 6 foot 6 on the mound for the Grays, and it really points to his dominance as he is extremely imposing on the mound as a pitcher. Expect a solid fastball/off speed pitch combination from the tall right hander as he has been terrific this year hitting his spots with his pitches as he has 32 strikeouts to only 10 walk in 29 innings of work.

The Aces have three all stars that were selected to play in the CRCL in Kris Kremer (Penn State), Austin “Goose” Gossman (South Alabama), and tonight’s starter Carter Bosch (Penn State). All will represent the Aces on Wednesday night in the game itself.

Tonight’s game will start at 7:00 PM at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy Field so make sure you arrive early and are in attendance for first pitch. If not able to make tonight’s game listen live on or follow us live on Twitter with the username @Alexandriaaces for in game updates.
