Game 23 Preview: Aces at T Bolts

The Alexandria Aces come into tonight’s game with a 19-3 record after they pushed their winning streak to 6 with a win over the Baltimore Redbirds in extras.  It was a back and forward game, but the Ace were able to get 1 run in the 9th to tie it and 2 in the tenth to secure the win.  

Tonight the Aces will try and stay perfect on the road against the Silver Spring/Takoma T Bolts.  The T Bolts come in with an 8-16 record and they are 0-2 against the Aces this season.  The T Bolts played the Aces close last time they met at Frank Mann Field, but the Aces did just enough to come out on top 3-2.  The T Bolts come in off a close game that they ultimately lost to the Bethesda Big Train 4-3

For the Aces Alex Garbrick (Morehead St) draws the start.  On the season he has thrown 15.2 innings in 3 starts, allowing 17 hits, 6 walks, and 8 strikeouts, and he has a 2.87 ERA and a 2-0 record.  Garbrick made his first start of the season against the T Bolts where he went 5 innings and only allowed 1 run.  The T Bolts will throw Huei-Sheng Lin who will be making his 4th start.  Lin has thrown 16 innings of 5.06 ERA ball.

Some players to watch on offense for the T Bolts are Carl Colbert who has hit 3 home runs on the season, and Brodie Leftride who leads the team in batting average, and also has 2 home runs on the season.

For the Aces Nick Slaughter (Houston) and Max Schuemann (Eastern Michigan) come it hot.  Slaughter had a home run last night, and Schuemann had 2 hits, 2 RBIS, and a run scored.
